Each Tableau extension consists of a manifest file (.trex). These manifest files contain metadata instructions on how to connect to the respective extension in the cloud, there’s no code or logic written inside of them. They’re also the only thing needed to start using extensions within Tableau environment. By placing the extension into the dashboard(s) as an object, a user initiates the follow-up authentication phase, which is critical in order to start using the extension.

For some of our extensions, there is little to no customisation and additional development needed. The Sankey Diagram, Data Refresh and Process Analysis extensions are immediately downloadable (and free to trial for 14 days).
However, the What-if Analysis and Business Glossary extensions require customisation specific to individual clients. If you’re interested in any of these two, please get in touch with us first to discuss relevant details needed for their customisation.
